The furnace utilizes a high-purity 99.9% ceramic tube with an outer diameter of 80 mm and a length of 1340 mm, ensuring optimal thermal uniformity and minimizing contamination.

The furnace is equipped with stainless steel flanges, enabling the system to achieve vacuum conditions for precise control over the growth environment. Heating is provided by durable silicon carbide rods, capable of reaching temperatures up to 1350°C. The advanced temperature controller offers 30 programmable segments, allowing for precise control of heating rates, cooling rates, and dwell times. The built-in PID auto-tune function, coupled with overheating, broken thermocouple, and over-temperature protection, ensures stable and reliable operation without the need for constant supervision.

The system boasts an impressive heating zone length of 750 mm, with a constant temperature zone of 400 mm, providing ample space for CNT growth. The furnace is powered by a 220V AC single-phase 50/60 Hz power supply, making it compatible with most laboratory electrical systems. A water channel is strategically placed under the tube to ensure efficient cooling and maintain optimal growth conditions.

One of the key features of the Omni R&D Carbon Nanotube Growth System is its innovative tube design. The bottom of the tube is shaped like a horn mouth, with a square cross-section. The front and right sides of the furnace are equipped with glass viewing ports, each measuring 70 mm x 70 mm, allowing for real-time observation of the growth process. The injection pump is positioned at the same altitude as the furnace, minimizing the distance between the injector and the tube port, ensuring precise and consistent delivery of the growth solution.

The system is designed to work with a proven gas-spinning CNT continuous growth process, utilizing a formula consisting of ethanol, ferrocene, thiophene, and water. Each component plays a crucial role in the growth process, with ethanol providing the carbon source, ferrocene decomposing to produce iron nanoparticles as a floating catalyst, thiophene acting as a co-catalyst to increase carbon source decomposition and CNT yield, and water introducing weak oxidative etching to prolong catalyst particle life and inhibit carbon black formation. Hydrogen is used as a carrier gas to reduce and activate the iron nanoparticles, inhibit carbon black formation, and improve CNT yield while reducing tube diameter.
